Anna Nazarova is a New York–based painter whose practice is deeply informed by her parallel work in photography and videography. Her paintings center on intimacy, atmosphere, and cinematic composition, often drawing from moments she captures through the lens.
She is the lead photographer for Jeffrey Campbell, where her editorials regularly reach the fashion brand’s audience of over 1 million. She also regularly contributes to publications including Nylon, has taken press photographs for bands like Sunflower Bean, and has worked on successful social media campaigns for clients across the fashion, architecture, and culture industries.
Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Nazarova spent her formative years in the Bay Area, where she studied Art History and French at San Francisco State University and honed her creative vision before moving to New York where she has immersed herself in a creative community, often documenting her close friends. Her respective photography and painting practices are constantly cross-pollinating, with her eye for composition and colors remaining a constant.
